The AT46 is a fully synthetic oil for press, especially developed in order to satisfy long life, burdensome in-exercise conditions. On-field industrial tests have demonstrated excellent performances in terms of:

•  Durability: with AT46 it is possible to achieve, without any particular maintenance, an oil-charge lifetime of 20.000 hours or even more. This is certainly a result that allows huge savings (money and time) respect to std mineral oils that normally last ¼ respect to our solution. Let’s explain a bit in detail why synthetic oil for press is more performing respect a standard mineral oil:  The std mineral oil normally needs to be completely substituted inside a ceramic press every 5000hours, because they are completely exhausted. This operation takes time (at least one day line stops). With AT46 it is possible to achieve at least 20.000 hours of charge lifetime, that means gain the following advantages:
•  economically, using AT46, the lubricant “volume in game” are at least ¼ respect to std mineral oil.
•   save time, with std mineral oil you are obliged to change completely the charge averagely once a year (presuming 5000 hours runs /year). With AT46, you can change completely the charge as a minimum every 4 years (presuming the same 5000hours /year).

Global Efficiency: regular tests performed by a certificated external laboratory over different in-line representative specimen sampled every 5.000hours, has demonstrated that the AT46 keeps unaltered all the chemical, physics and tribological parameters, assuring an excellent protection against corrosion, oxidation and wear of the entire hydraulic  system of the ceramic press. The main reason is linked to the lubricant base used inside the formulation of the product: the technical core of AT46 is a special, highly stable, saturate chemical ester. 

Everybody knows that synthetic chemical esters used inside lubricants formulations differ from standard mineral oil bases thanks to its intrinsic polarity. Esters based polar fluid have:

•  a natural capacity to film forming (far better lubricant boundary proprieties) over metal surfaces without any need of increase this characteristic with further suitable chemical additives.
• a very high natural flash point >240°C    

• a very high natural viscosity index >150 (no needs of insert chemical viscosity index improver)

• a very low natural pour point > -45°C (no needs of insert chemical pour point depressant)
• a very high oxidation and thermal stability. Esters bases are not affected by the thermal and radical chains degradation whom mineral oil bases are subjected (that’s why normally you are obliged to change the charge every 5.000hours, when there’s an important viscosity decrement and the oil bulk is full of solid stain particles).
