Industrial Deflocculants
Atlas Trading Company supplies industrial deflocculants to ceramic tile manufacturers across North Africa, the Middle East and Europe — sodium and potassium polyacrylates, sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) and tailored blends, available in liquid and powder form.
In slip preparation, the right deflocculant is what lets you grind at higher solid content with less water. Lower viscosity means shorter milling cycles, lower thixotropy over time, and a measurable cut in the energy your spray dryer burns removing that water. The wrong deflocculant — or the right one at the wrong dosage — shows up as slip that ages badly overnight, unstable rheology between batches, or defects at the glazing line.
Because clay bodies vary from quarry to quarry, deflocculants are not interchangeable. Performance depends on your specific raw materials, water hardness and pH. That is why we don’t sell from a catalogue alone: we evaluate your slip data and propose the deflocculant — or the polyacrylate/phosphate combination — that fits your body, then supply consistent lots so your results stay repeatable.
Our deflocculants are also supplied to the paints and coatings, adhesives and textile sectors, where they act as dispersants, thickeners and stabilizers.
